Althea Korea Wanderlust Beauty Box Review

If you're a huge fan of Kbeauty or Korean beauty, then Althea Korea is definitely a site you should check out. I am still dipping my toes into the whole world of korean makeup and beauty, and I usually get my items off Althea as they are more affordable than in local stores.

Althea Korea has been launching Beauty Boxes (and goodness, it's difficult to land my hands on one as it gets sold out quick) and these are a great way to try different full-sized items at a cheaper price. It isn't a subscription service so you can purchase the boxes only when they appeal to you. This time round, I am extremely lucky to be sent their Wanderlust Beauty Box (box #33!) and I want to show you what I've received.

This Wanderlust Beauty Box contains 5 full-sized items :
Peri Pera Mini-Mini Peppy's Carrier
Hey Nature Dual Eyeshadow
Etude House Dr Mascara Fixer For Super Long Lash
COC Momo Waterproof Gel Eye Liner
Aqutop Watercolour Blusher

Peri Pera Mini-Mini Peppy's Carrier Review and Swatches

Do we grow up ever? How cute is the Peri Pera Mini-Mini Peppy's Carrier? I was so excited when I saw this Peri Pera Luggage set! It brought back memories of when I was in Primary School, flaunting my school trolly bag. This set contains 5 minis - Ink Velvet in #2 So Grapefruit, Ink Airy Velvet in #5 Elf Light Rose, Vivid Tint Water in #3 Apple Squeeze, Ink Concealer in #1 Cover King Vanila and limited to this set, the Ink Multi Shadowing (multipurpose product for adding shadows to the eyelids and face).

Peri Pera Ink Velvet Ink Concealer and Ink Multishadowing Review and Swatches

I have been a huge fan of Peri Pera Ink Velvet Lip Tints (read about them here) so I am really excited to try the rest of the items out. These items are small and handy to carry around! The lip products are pretty pigmented when swatched and they do last on the lips for a long time. I was super intrigued by the Ink Concealer and I have used it about 3 times now and I have to say I quite enjoy it. It has a lightweight formula that blends really easily. It has light to medium coverage and does not feel heavy on the skin. I am not too sure if there are any other shades available, but #1 Cover King Vanila is a little light on me and I have to mix it with other concealers for my undereye. The Ink Multishadowing  is a nifty little tool to add depth to the skin. I am in love with the shade, as it has a nice cool undertone to it that enables it to create realistic shadows on the skin without looking fake. It blends nicely and I have plans to use this as a quick step to contour the nose!

COC Momo Waterproof Gel Eyeliner and Hey Nature Dual Shadow Stick review

I have not heard of Hey Nature as a brand before but that's a great reason why beauty boxes are a lovely option to try new items out. The Hey Nature Dual Eyeshadow Stick that is supposed to give a natural and perfectly paired color gradation in a swipe. I got mine in the shade Daily Cinnamon and it is a lovely pairing of a warm toned bronze and a champagne shade. I foresee this being great for beginners or those who love a super fuss-free way to add some definition to the eyes.

The COC Momo Waterproof Gel Eye Liner is a long wearing and smudge proof eyeliner. I got it in the shade #01 Real Black and I love how black it is! Some black eyeliners look grey on me as they are just not pigmented enough. This one from COC is truly black and it really does add definition to the areas applied. I use this to line the upper lash line to add definition to the lashes and to make myself look more awake. It also applies nicely onto the tightline and waterline as it glides on nicely without much tugging. In terms of long wearing, I wore this twice to wrok and I did not notice any black smudges on my lower lash line when I got home!

Aqutop Watercolour Blusher Soft Pink and Hey Nature Dual Shadow Stick Daily Cinnamon swatches

The last item is the Aqutop Water Colour Blusher in Soft Pink. This is said to help brighten any complexion with a dewy finish, and can be popped onto the cheeks for a flush, and added to the eyelids and lips for a monochromatic look. It comes in a frosted glass jar which I thought looked pretty classy. It reminds me of a nail polish with its brush applicator but it works by dispensing a decent amount of products onto the cheeks. It is pretty watery and blends easily. It isn't extremely pigmented and can be built up slowly to desired intensity. I usually just work it in with my fingers and it does the job really well. This is a sweet rosey pink shade that adds a nice flush to the cheeks and I quite like it on its own. I would usually use this before applying my powder foundation and I'm set.

Aqutop Watercolour Blusher Soft Pink review and Etude House Dr Mascara Fixer Review

The Etude House Dr Mascara Fixer has been on my list of Korean makeup to try so I was glad to get this in the box. I have not tried anything like this before so am definitely intrigued. This is a transparent fixing gel which acts like a lash primer. This is said to help the lashes hold the curl and prevent smudges along the day. Most Asians I know do have really straight lashes that grow out and down, so having a fluttery curl to the lashes is no mean feat. This product is meant to be applied before and after a coat of your favourite mascara (waterproof or not). I used it once so far and I do notice that my lashes stayed curled throughout the day. I do not really see this adding length to the lashes, but I will try it out more to see if I can attest to that claim! Keep your eyes peeled as I may update in a upcoming post.

Aqutop Watercolour Blusher Soft Pink and Peri Pera Peppy's Carrier Set Review

This Wanderlust Beauty Box from Althea Korea was definitely one that I enjoyed! It's nice to explore out of my comfort zone and try items from various brands! This box retails for SGD 36.30 (such a good deal, truly), but it is sadly out of stock already. Althea does launch their beauty boxes pretty regularly so if this post interests you, I highly recommend stalking their site so that you can snatch a box up when it launches!
