Review! Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel

By Sarah - Wednesday, April 02, 2014

Good day all! Today I wanna share some of my thoughts regarding the Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel.

Don't mind the price tag!

I purchased this in hopes of salvaging my super dry skin. Ever since my return for Europe and its dry winter cllimate, my skin has been dying. I have been slathering on moisturising creams and body butters like there was no tomorrow. However, Singapore is hot. Very hot. It does not suit rich moisturising creams. I would feel gross and sticky and the creams will kinda just "melt" off when I step out of the house. Yes yucks

So I decided to try this out! It is a gel formulation, so it is way lighter than my typical lotions and creams. Heard many good things about this and I constantly see it on sale on! I got this from my friend who purchased this from Hong Kong. It is super affordable, maybe about SGD $5 to $7? Huge packaging as well. 300ml of product! Awesome deal for such a price point.

My first impression when I opened the packaging was that this gel is super watery. I lost a a huge blob as it literally just poured out of the container like liquid. Ain't gonna waste it so I just kinda stepped on it to moisturise the soles of my feet! It is clear and watery in texture. Blends into the skin very quickly and has a slight cooling sensation when applied onto the skin. However, I do not feel any difference after slathering this all over my body. Nothing. Did it all get absorbed or...? Very interesting.

I have been using this religiously for about 2 weeks now and I have to say, this product is not sufficiently moisturising enough for me. My dry skin have seen no improvement whatsoever and I am terribly disappointed. I would not recommend this for dry skin people out there! However, if you have normal skin, you can try this out if you would like. Aloe gels are a great alternative to thick lotions and creams in Singapore's crazy hot weather. The moisturising effects of this gel is not excellent and I have tried other aloe gels which were way better. The price point for this gel is great but effects are mediocre.

If I had to rate it, I would probably give it a 3/5.

However, I have found one great use for this! I use this at night to moisturise my lashes. Yes, my lashes. As I wear waterproof mascaras almost everyday, I feel the need to show em' some love and take care of them. Aloe vera gels help to moisturise them and grow longer! It worked for me and my lashes have seen substantial growth. For more details about growing longer lashes, check out this post!

Alright that is all for me today. Sleepy but I have tons of work to do. Ciao!
Have a great beauty day loves! XO.
