The 5 Product Face

By Sarah - Thursday, April 10, 2014

For someone who loves piling makeup onto her face, choosing 5 products for a full face is tough. Very tough. Of course, not everyday is going to be a full face kinda day and sometimes we do get lazy or just ran outta time! I had to ponder about what I felt was essential in looking presentable and kept together. Then it hit me and here are my picks (in order of application)!

Apologies on the dirty packaging! These products receive tons of love from me ;).

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation
I do suffer from uneven skin tones as well as acne scarring. Nothing says presentable more than flawless looking skin. This foundation supposedly has the "lasting power of primer, coverage of a concealer, and blendabillity of a foundation in one". It is medium to full coverage and application is fuss-free. Great for those days I wanna dash out of the house! It also contains SPF 20 which is excellent as in Singapore, we do get tons of sun. Lasting power is pretty impressive and I get about 7-8 hours of wear! Great choice for a minimal product usage kinda day.

ELF Eyebrow Kit
Like I have said many times before, no one should really be leaving their houses without eyebrows. No one. It is such a crucial and prominent feature of your face! I am not talking about going all pro and styling them everyday (of course if you do, i love you and we should be friends) but at least fill in those sparse gaps. Eyebrows are really essential, and I NEVER leave without some form of product on my brows. I do not have much hairs there so filling them in is a must for me. No look is complete without brows as it just looks... incomplete. This brow kit is great as it comes with a gel and powder - gel for styling and holding the hairs in place and the powder for setting the gel and filling in the gaps. Super easy to use! Of course I had to pick this.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
I feel like I have talked about this concealer sooooo much. But it deserves it all. This is my HG concealer and I cannot leave my house without it. It conceals my super dark undereye circles really well and it does not crease! Blends super easy and application is fuss free as well. As I am using a shade lighter than my foundation shade, it helps to brighten my undereye area as well, resulting in me looking more awake! Good stuff here.

Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara
Mascara just helps to define the eye as well as make it look wider and more awake! I have Asian eyes, and we all know it ain't large. I always add definition to my eyes to prevent myself from looking tired. This mascara adds tons of volume and length to my lashes! It is waterproof as well and thus, smudging is preventing. Love this mascara and it is super affordable.

NYX Blush in Pinched
Adding blush really livens up the face! I love this blush as it is a slightly shimmery pinkish coral shade. It brings back some colour to my face and adds hints of radiance due to the slight shimmer. Instant difference, really. The amazing capabilities of blush should not be underestimated. This blush is pigmented and blends fairly easily. Wears about 6 hours on me which is not bad considering its price point. As I have already hit 5 products, I will probably dab my finger into the blush and add some colour onto my lips as well! ;)

So there you have it, some of my essentials for a minimal makeup kinda of day. These products will help me look presentable without much effort. I am not really a fan of natural and minimal makeup, but if I had to, these will be the products I will go to!

Thanks for reading! Have a great makeup day! XO.
