Pencil Liners | Stila VS Urban Decay

By Sarah - Sunday, June 01, 2014

We all know Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Liners are always hyped about among beauty lovers. Are they really that bombastically good?

No. Not for me.

These liners come in an array of gorgeous colours and they glide on so smooth. Great textures as they are so creamy and soft. However, these things smudge like nothing else on my lids. They may be waterproof but not smudge proof fo' sure. I really wanted to love these, but the smudges on my lids and undereye areas are making that difficult. I love Urban Decay products, don't get me wrong. But I'll pass on these liners (after getting tons from a set. First world problems).

Less hyped about in the beauty community are the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liners. These glide on really nicely as well and they do not budge once they set. At all. It does not transfer or smudge. Thus, this lasts for the entire day out in the sun and they look as fresh in the night as it did freshly applied. I am loving these liners. If I could swap all of my Urban Decay liners for these, I would.

Left: Stila Tetra, Starfish   |   Right: UD Hustle, Stash, Rockstar, LSD, Rockstar

Cost wise, they both retail at USD$20 on Sephora's website which you can check out here and here. Colour varieties for both liners are excellent as well! I highly do recommend checking out the Stila liners if you're willing to spend 20 bucks on a liner! Trust me, you will love it as well.

Side note, I do have a notable mention here! I do find Kiko Cosmetics Glamorous Eye Pencils to be very comparable to the creamy texture of Urban Decay liners. Pigmented and they glide on really smooth. However, these liners do smudge slightly more than that of the UD ones. But considering the price point, these liners are pretty great and worth checking out.

Are you going to be a loyal Urban Decay supporter or are you going to take the path less travelled? Do share!

Have a great makeup day ahead!XO.
