Review | Urban Decay Vice 3

By Sarah - Saturday, November 22, 2014

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of blog posts recently as I've been insanely caught up with school!

Anyway, this post is super late but better late than never right? I am super excited as I recently purchased the newly released Urban Decay Vice 3 and I can't put it down! I am always excited for Christmas collections but this year, I was literally trembling with excitement for the launch of the Vice 3. I was counting down and when it finally launched in Singapore, I had to grab it! And then... Sephora had a promotion and a 20% sale (my enthusiasm did not pay off). But I didn't feel too bad, as I have been using the Vice 3 immediately after I got it and have been using it everyday.

This is the prettiest vice palette from the 3 in my opinion. The shadows are nicely organised (for once) and there are a good number of mattes which you can use for your crease (which is excellent as Vice and Vice 2 had about 2 matte shades and they weren't the best shades to work with in your crease).

Of course, like many of you, the row that got my heart was the fourth one from the left. The pinks, red and purples...oooohhhh. The shade that I got the palette was: Sonic. This colour looks amazing. It is sightly on the redder side than MAC Coppering and more orange than Garnet from the Lorac Pro Palette. Gorgeous shade. Really lovely to pack it all over the lid for a warm smoky eye.

Comparison to the Vice 2

Comparison of all the vices:
From the top in clockwise: Vice, Vice 2, Vice 3.

The pigmentation is superb and the colours are really gorgeous. I did notice that some matte shadows are really soft and powdery - when you dip your brush into the pan, there will be shedding of powder! Despite this, the mattes are incredibly creamy and pigmented and I am a happy camper. The shadows do blend nicely too, without much effort required! Lasting power is typical of Urban Decay shadows, which is superb! I always prime my eyes with the Urban Decay Anti Aging Primer Potion first though, before I apply any shadow from any brand.

Overall, I am super loving this palette and constantly reach for it these days. This palette retails for SGD $88 in local Sephora outlets and it is limited edition with limited pieces, so don't take too long to decide as it might run out of stock!

Rating: 4.5/5

Hope this review helped! Sorry I couldn't add in swatches (I usually reach home after dark and there isn't an good lighting in my house right now!).

Have a lovely day ahead my friends! Xo.
