Beauty Favourites 2014

By Sarah - Thursday, January 15, 2015

Alright, it's time for the big round up. Here are my beauty favourites from 2014! I had soooo many to share but I decided to only do the items that I have been absolutely crazy about. To keep it short and sweet, y'know? ;)

Laneige UV Base
I use this under my foundation whenever I head out as this works as a sunscreen for me. I hate the feeling of typical sunscreen, especially on my face. This has a light texture just like a BB cream, which enables me to wear it without feeling uncomfortable.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation
This has got to be my favourite foundation of 2014. I just love how this applies and how it sets on my skin. Light to medium coverage, and it has a really unique gel-like texture that blends easily on the skin. Not to mention that I actually love the smell of the foundation too, reminds me of fresh flowers! You can read my full review on this foundation here.

Tarte Pin Up Girl Blush Palette
Oh man, Tarte blushes are This palette is so pretty and the blush selection is really versatile! The blushes, like the other 12 hour Amazonian Clay blushes, are nicely pigmented and they do blend out quite well. My favorite has gotta be the shade breathless!

Mac Pro Longwear Concealer
Ughh I can't praise this concealer enough. Holy grail. Yes get it. You need it. I've tried so many concealers but I always end up going back to this. It has awesome coverage (which I need for my serious undereyes) and I love the texture. It doesn't feel too heavy on the skin and it blends like a dream. Creasing under the eyes is reduced with this as it contains anti-creasing technology as well. Sometimes, in a pinch, I'll use this as my eyelid primer in order to save time too!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown
This product has brought my brow game up many notches. I love it. I use it everyday and it does not budge nor smudge. It sculpts out my brows really nicely too which I enjoy (if you prefer the more natural look, their brow wiz is pretty amazing as well). I just dip my angled brush into the product, press the brush onto the inside of the cap to get rid of excess and to sharpen my brush a tad. Use a light hand and a little product goes a long way with this!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Catwalk Palette
This palette is definitely one of my go-tos this year. It contains all my favourite shades! Pigmented and blends well, everything I need. In times where I have no idea what eye look to do, I usually just grab this palette! Here is a pictorial of my go-to look using this palette.

MUA Single Eyeshadows
These eyeshadows are so amazing. And for 1 pound, you can't beat the quality. They are creamy, pigmented, they blend easily and the colours are just purely stunning. I love the shimmery ones so so much. You can check out my review and swatches of them here.

More swatches of my MUA single eyeshadows for ya

Lorac Pro Palette
Another go-to palette of mine, regardless of it being doing my own makeup or when I am freelancing. This palette has the perfect balance of mattes and shimmers, with a good selection of colours. Not to mention the quality - Lorac has one of the best quality shadows out there. Soft, creamy, pigmented, and blends like a dream. I'm so tempted to get Lorac Pro 2 but...I am controlling myself.

Sleek Ultra Mattes V2 Palette
I love colours, guys. Rarely do I wear just a neutral eye with no vibrant colours - I'll add it in somewhere, be it the outer V or the lower lashline. This palette has 12 amazing matte shades that gives me endless possibilities. Sleek eyeshadows are also one of my favourites fo' sure. Read my full review and swatches here.

MAC lipstick in Bad Girl Riri
I am all about brownish nudes and this lipstick just hits the spot. Such a gorgeous colour and it's matte too. The packaging is so pretty too! Makes me happy just looking at it. Even though it is a matte, it is not drying and it doesn't settle into my lines. Love. Love. Love

Wet N Wild Mega Last Lipstick in Bare It All
This lipstick is beautiful. It is the perfect nude. Not too brown nor pink, it works with every eye look. These Wet N Wild Lipsticks are so great in quality and yet, so affordable. Applies really smoothly, pigmented and moisturising. Go get you some!

Collection Deluxe Lipstick in 01 Prohibition
This is probably my favorite red lipstick in 2014. I actually purchased this lipstick in London before Collection came to Singapore. This lipstick is such a gorgeous red! It is moisturising (it helped me survive winter, come on) and pigmented. Doesn't bleed as much as the other red lipsticks that I own as well.

Zoeva Luxe Face Paint Brush
This is contouring made easy, guys! This brush is so soft and it is precise enough to give you them chiselled cheekbones. I never really use to contour much, but after owning this brush, it makes it so easy and convenient so I just kinda do it all the time now. Review of this brush can be checked out here.

Sigma F86 Tapered Kabuki
This is my holy grail concealer brush. This brush fits under the eyes so well. It helps me work my undereye concealer in a snap and it blends everything so nicely! I use this everyday and this is probably my favourite sigma brush out of all time! I have like 2 backups. Yes.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
I like to use this brush to buff in my foundation. I like that it isn't a full on dome, as it as tapered at the sides a little which makes it easier to work in between the brows and under the eyes. Real techniques brushes are so so soft and they work great for their price point.

Ebay blending brushes
Yes these brushes are off Ebay and they cost about USD$1 ish? I have 10 over of this same brush, no kid. This brushes work so well on blending and they fit into the my crease so nicely. They are really soft too! A supposed dupe for famous MAC brushes siuch as the #224, #217 and #222 (close, but not exact).  I love this and I reach for this more than my other Sigma and Zoeva ones. Here is my old review of the 217 Ebay dupe.

Zoeva Soft Definer #227
I use this way way more than my MAC 217 and Sigma E25 as this is so much softer in my opinion. I love the use this to blend certain shades into the crease as well as overall blending. Really decent blending brush and so affordable too!

Bioderma Miscellar Solution
I have been using this for almost 1.5 years now to remove my makeup and I can't go back. This works great in removing all of my makeup (yes, even the waterproof ones) and it doesn't require you to tug or pull on your skin. It is formulated for sensitive skin as well, which is great. One huge bottle usually last me about 6 months!

ELF Makeup Mist & Set
I love to spray this all over after doing my makeup to reduce the cakiness and help my makeup last all day. For $3, can't beat it!

Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for dropping by! Xo.
