Review & Swatch | Topshop Highligher in Sunbeam and Bronzer in Mohawk

By Sarah - Monday, February 02, 2015

I've never really been into buying makeup from brands that do not specialise in cosmetics and Topshop was definitely one of em'. What are the chances that a company can get a cosmetic product right when their selling point is fashion, y'now what I mean? Boy, was I wrong and pleasantly surprised.

I decided to just check out the makeup section one day since the makeup was having a 1-for-1 promotion. Man, when I swatched the bronzer, I was like.... WHOA. And then I swatched it again. And again. It is so velvety soft and creamy to the touch. Reminds me so much of the Inglot Cosmetic's AMC pressed powders and blushers! This goes the same for the highlighter as well!

Pigmentation is good, one swipe gives you colour that is true to the pan.

The bronzer in Mohawk is a cool-toned bronzer, which I thought would be great for contouring since it mimcs the natural shadows on the face due to its slight grey undertone. Tried it and loved it. Blends really well too.

The highlighter in Sunbeam is a gorgeous gold with yellow and gold shimmer that looks amazing on warmer skin tones. It complements the yellow undertones of my skin really well! This is more golden and warmer in tone as compared to Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm Cosmetics. I also do find that the reddish shimmers in this highlighter is more obvious than that of the Balm. It gives a lovely glow onto the high points of your face, but this ain't the natural looking route fo' sure as the shimmer.

Here are some swatches for ya!

The bronzer retails for SGD$19.90 and you get 10g of product (which is more than NARS Laguna and Benefit Hoola Bronzer which are 8g each)!
Rating: 4.5/5

The highlighter retials for SGD$23.90 and you get 6.5g of product (lesser than The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer which is 8.5g).
Rating: 3.5/5

Overall, I really enjoy the bronzer! Highligher less so but still a lovely addition to my collection! For the price point (without the 1-for-1 promotion), I suggest just getting the bronzer as it is really one of my favourites in my collection! However, the promotion is still on currently so I say go go go and grab yourself some Topshop goodies! Their powder products are truly incredible!

That's all for me today, hope this review helped you in some way! Thanks so much for dropping by!
