My Thoughts After Trying Out InstaNatural Skincare from iHerb

Recently, iHerb reached out to me to try some InstaNatural Skincare products and since the brand gave off the affordable and full of potential vibe, I decided to give some of their products a try. A big thank you for iHerb for sponsoring this post!

I’ve always seen these items on the website while I do my almost monthly purchases of vitamins and sports stuff, but never really took the plunge to try them as let’s be honest, I have too many brand new beauty items in my cupboard.

However, since iHerb reached out to me, it was a great chance to try them out. After some browsing, I decided on four products to test out. Here they are:
1. Vitamin C Moisturizer with Natural Mineral Sunscreen

2. Age-Defying & Skin Clearing Vitamin C Facial Serum with Retinol + Salicylic Acid
3. Eyelash Enhancing Growth Serum
4. Niacinamide Vitamin B3 Serum, Dark Spot Serum
InstaNatural Vitamin C moisturiser review

I decided to give the Vitamin C Moisturizer with Natural Mineral Sunscreen a try as I do enjoy a day moisturiser that has sun protection. This is exceptionally useful when I go to any fitness class and would like to apply my moisturiser after taking a shower. As I usually do so before work, sun protection is a major requirement for me as the sun rays in Singapore are intense. I like that the bottle is plastic and comes with a pump, so application is hassle free and I can simply dump this bottle into my bag on the go. The moisturiser itself isn’t too heavy and spreads fairly easily on the skin. It gets absorbed quickly, leaving the skin with a slight dewy glow and my skin feels well hydrated with just one pump. I was afraid that there would be a white cast due to the presence of titanium dioxide, but I’m glad that there wasn’t any. This moisturiser is SPF 30 (it states broad spectrum, but I am not sure of the PA value!) so it provides decent protection for daily use.

Active Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (5%), Titanium Dioxide (3%) and Octisalate (5%)

Inactive Ingredients: Water (aqua), aloe barbadensis leaf juice, caprylica/capric triglyceride*, caprylyl ether*, carthamus tinctorius (safflower) seed oil, sorbitan monostearate, triethoxycaprylylsilane, cety alchol*, glycerin*, isostearic acid*, polyglyceryl-6 distearate*, jojoba esters*, polyglyceryl-3 beeswax*, polyglyceryl-10 laurate*, tapioca starch, polymethylsilsesquixoane, sodium hyaluronate, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, niacinamide, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, rosa canina fruit oil, argania spinosa kernel oil, hesperidin, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, centella asiatic extract, hibiscus rosa-sinensis flower extract, dipotassium glycyrrhizinate, dehydroxanthan gum*, pentylene glycol*, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin. (*Naturally Derived)

The next product that caught my eye was the Age-Defying & Skin Clearing Vitamin C Facial Serum with Retinol and Salicylic Acid. Despite the name being mouthful, it was pretty much what i was looking for in life. I love me some salicylic acid and vitamin C is great for boosting the skin radiance. As I’ve been dabbling into retinol lately too, this serum seemed like a perfect all in one. The serum is a greenish yellow liquid with slight viscosity. I could pick out the scent of the tea tree oil the moment I applied it to my skin, but the scent isn’t overpowering and it fades very quickly. This serum gets absorbed into the skin nicely and despite the natural oils in the ingredients list, this leaves no tacky film behind. I have been using this for the past 2 weeks or so and I do like it. A little of this goes a long way and my skin has been pretty clear lately. I usually do get small mini bumps on my cheeks and I feel that this serum does help to ensure that the skin is well exfoliated. It doesn’t dry out the skin either, as I know many people are concerned with retinol skincare. My skin did not have any added redness or dry patches after using this! So, if you’re wanting to try out retinol, this serum can be a good stepping stone.

For reference, here’s the ingredients list:
Aqua, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, dimethyl sulfone*, glycerin*, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate*, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, capryloyl salicylic acid, retinol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, hesperidin, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, centella asiatica extract, hibiscus rosa-sinensis flower extract, squalane, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) peel oil, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, cananga odorata flower oil, geranium maculatum extract, potassium cetyl phosphate, tocopherol*, xanthan gum*, pentylene glycol*, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, citric acid*, limonene*, linalool*. (*Naturally Derived)

InstaNatural Age defying and skin clearing serum and niacinamide serum review
Niacinamide is something that I always look out for in my skincare as it is known for improving the skin texture and reducing the appearance of blemishes. Thus, the Instanatural Niacinamide Vitamin B3 Dark Spot Serum immediately caught my eye and I had to try it out. This is 60 ml so it is twice the usual size of regular serums! The first thing I noticed was the subtle scent of lavender when I opened the bottle. This appeals to me, but I know of some people who detest the scent. The scent is probably due to the lavender oil present in the ingredients. The very first time I used it, I applied a little too much and I noticed the I had small tiny bumps on my cheeks that night. Thus, a little goes a really long way with this one and I suggest applying a small amount as there are quite a lot of oils present in this serum. It does leave the skin a little tacky after application, but I would top it off with a day cream so that does not bother me too much.

Ingredients:
Aqua, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, niacinamide, glycerin*, dicaprylyl ether*, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, ceteareth-6 olivate*, potassium cetyl phosphate, sodium hydroxypropyl starch phosphate*, magnesium aluminum silicate*, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, hesperidin, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, centella asiatica extract, hibiscus rosa-sinensis flower extract, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, sodium hyaluronate*, melia azadirachta seed oil, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, tocopherol*, xanthan gum*, pentylene glycol*, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, linalool*.(*Naturally Derived)

InstaNatural eyelash enhancing serum review
Lastly, we have the Instanatural Eyelash Enhancing Growth Serum. As I have slowly waned my makeup addition and use recently, I have to admit that lashes are still quite important to adding some definition to the eyes. I did a lash lift recently, so that it would make application of mascara real easy (and I do really enjoy it!), and longer lashes never hurts anyone. I also hoped that this would make my lashes stronger as a lash lift is still utilising some chemicals after all. I like that the brush on this is extremely fine and it makes focused application on the lash line really easy. It does not sting my eyes and I feel perfectly comfortable after applying this to my lash line. I have only been using this for about a week so it is difficult to attest to any results just yet.

Ingredients: Aqua, glycerin*, myristoyl pentapeptide-17, sodium hyaluronate*, hydroxyethylcellulose*, acetyl tetrapeptide-3, trifolium pratense (clover) flower extract, dextran, butylene glycol, pentylene glycol*, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium chloride*, disodium edta, potassium hydroxide. (*Naturally Derived)

InstaNatural skincare from iHerb review

There’s my little InstaNatural skincare haul and review! This skincare line does have immense potential considering its price point and impressive ingredient list. If you’re a skincare junkie who enjoys the incorporation of natural ingredients, this line is worth checking out. As for me, I have no particular preference regarding synthetic or natural ingredients, but I would do a patch test before using it all over the face as I know some people are allergic to natural oils such as lavender and avocado oil.

Till then,
