Flew back from Bali a few days ago and boy, was it an amazing trip. I will share more about it and my recommendations really soon here on the blog. Today’s post will be about 6 products that I’m glad that I brought for my one week Bali trip!
Weather in Bali is pretty similar to that of Singapore; it was scorching hot. There were times I felt as if my skin was peeling from the heat! As I was up really early to take part in surfing classes, yoga classes, and just exploring the streets under the sun, my skin became quite dry. Thankfully, there were a few beauty products that I brought to Bali that helped tremendously in quenching my skin and helping me look awake!
Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Mild Milk (For Sensitive Skin)
After receiving this sunscreen about a month ago, I decided to put it to the test in Bali. This sunscreen is SPF 50+ PA ++++, so the sun coverage was definitely sufficient for my personal needs. It is also sweat and waterproof (with its Aqua Booster EX Technology), so it was perfect as I was constantly sweating or falling into the water while surfing! Some sunscreens out there are not exactly waterproof, so I usually find myself burnt after an hour or so at the beach as the sunscreen just washed off my face. This time, I’m glad to say that I had no sun burn on my face at all.
This sunscreen is also formulated with 50% skincare ingredients, such as super hyaluronic acid, marine collagen and green tea extract. I would not substitute this for any skincare product, but it is a good addition. The most important plus point for me was the fact that this is extremely lightweight! It is easily blended onto the skin and gets absorbed in a matter of seconds. Perfect to throw on in the mornings! This sunscreen has crept up my list of favourite sunscreens and I am throughly enjoying it.
Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Day Cream
Due to constantly swimming and surfing at the beach, my skin became a lot drier than normal and it felt a little bit uncomfortable. I am so glad that I brought this Eucerin Hyaluronic Day Cream with me as this quenched my skin perfectly. This cream is an advanced hyaluronic acid formula day cream that is meant for dry skin. As someone who has oily skin, I was slightly hesitant to try this out. However, since I enjoyed the Hyaluron-Filler Overnight Treatment Serum (post about it here), I thought to give this a try.
However, a little bit goes a long way with this cream and despite applying a very light layer the previous night, I noticed that the dry patches along the sides of my nose were gone in the morning. I was so pleased with this and it definitely helped to keep my skin plump and hydrated throughout my week in Bali.
Pixi Rose Caviar Essence
This is an encapsulated moisture serum to hydrate and restore skin’s brightness. I love that this serum is in a squeeze tube, so it makes it really convenient for application. As its packaging is entirely plastic, it was also really easy to bring along for my travels.
This serum does contain encapsulated flower oils (which I believe are the darker pink globs as you can see in the tube) and at first, the word “oils” made me a little hesitant to try this out. However, I’m glad to report that this isn’t oily at all! In fact, this serum is really lightweight and gets absorbed into the skin in seconds, without leaving a tacky film. Perfect for a hot and humid climate! It keeps my skin well hydrated throughout the day and I also do notice that it imparts a subtle glow to my skin, which I do enjoy!
Tarte Shapetape Concealer
I know that this concealer has made a few appearances here on the blog already, but it is truly the only concealer I use these days! I had to bring it to Bali with me and it worked like a charm. This tarte concealer has such high coverage that I simply dot it onto my finger of choice, warm it up with the same finger of the other hand, and apply it to my undereye area. One dot. That’s it. And the coverage is sufficient for me personally.
This concealer is also extremely long lasting. My undereye area was still looking pretty good after surfing and everything else! I love this for everyday as I don’t usually find the need to touch up. In terms of lasting power, this concealer tops the cake for me and I will always repurchase this until something better comes along (but I’m quite doubtful of that!).
Essence Volume Stylist Curl and Volume Mascara
I love drugstore mascaras (even though I still have major love for Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara recently) and Essence ones are generally pretty good in my opinion. I decided to give this Curl and Volume mascara a whirl, and I’m so pleased with its performance. This mascara is firstly, really black so it adds a good amount of definition to the lashes. It also does a good job of volumising the lashes and making it look fuller (not as voluminous as the TF Better Than Sex, but still extremely decent!).
As I do have permed eyelashes, I can’t really attest to its curling abilities. But, the best part is that this mascara does last a long time without flaking on me! One day, I accidentally forgot to remove it before surfing. Somehow, it still clung onto my lashes and did not give me black undereye area when I came back to the beach! As this isn’t marketed as waterproof, I was stunned in a positive way. For it’s affordable price tag, I’d say this is definitely worth checking out.
Canmake Stay-On Balm Rouge
Ah, lip tints are truly my new found love. I just smear it on in the mornings and I know that it would last a good amount of time before I have to touch up. Recently, I am in love with this Canmake Stay On Balm Rouge. No precise application is needed and it feels exactly like a lip balm, but it tints my lips ever so slightly. It is a quick and hassle free way for me to add some colour and life back to my lips! After trying out the lip rouge and the lip tint, I do prefer the lip tints. As expected, the colour lasts longer on the lips and I do recommend them for a quick and easy throw on!
What are some beauty products that you enjoy on your travels?
Hope you will give some of these products a try! I’m working on my little Bali Travel Guide and it will be up soon! Till then,
