It this been a while since I posted about my product empties! I generally do not overload on my skincare and I do believe that a little goes a long way for a lot of things. Thus, it takes me a while to finish my products to have an empties post but finally, here we are again! These product empties have been accumulated over the past few months and I can’t wait to share with you my thoughts.
Let’s dive in.
The Skin Pharmacy Silky Smooth Sunscreen SPF 30
I do love this sunscreen. As its name suggests, it is silky smooth indeed. The greatest plus point for me was that this sunscreen isn’t greasy at all. It felt just like applying a moisturiser, which I do enjoy. The tackiness and greasiness of some sunscreens can make me feel uncomfortable. SPF 30 is decent protection for daily use (but I do tend to prefer sunscreens that are SPF 50). According to The Skin Pharmacy’s website, this sunscreen does provide UVA and UVB protection even though I can’t seem to find the PA rating anywhere. Regardless, I did really enjoy this sunscreen and I like that it was very easy to apply and get absorbed into the skin. This retails for SGD 39.90 for 30g (the one featured here! I used it up in about 1.5 months) and SGD 49.90 for 50g. I’d probably get myself the bigger bottle of 50g next time!
RE:ERTH Hydrating Gel Moisturiser
I wrote about RE:ERTH before in my skincare routine for March and I really liked that their skincare products include their patented Japanese White Turmeric and Spring Turmeric Extract. I rarely do see this ingredient being featured in other skincare products so I was definitely interested to try these out. This hydrating gel moisturiser is an oil free gel and I love that it is really hydrating. My dry patches (especially around my nose) were noticeably reduced, which is impressive as this feels extremely lightweight. The packaging is also gorgeous and I love the twist up cap. A little goes a long way with this gel moisturier too as it has amazing spreadability. I usually use one and a half pumps for my entire face and this lasted me a long time too. This retails for SGD 85 for 50ml on RE:ERTH. When I finally do run out of moisturisers in myself stash, I can see myself repurchasing this.
Vichy LiftActiv Vitamin C Brightening Skin Corrector
I mentioned this Vitamin C intensive serum from Vichy in my current skincare favourites post and I mentioned how I could see a noticeable effect on my skin. Do check that post out to read more about it! I do like this serum and since I do have quite a bit of pigmentation, I will probably repurchase it soon. I mostly see this retailing for SGD 52 at various local drugstores and online stores.
Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense Multi-Phase Serum
This serum really lasted me a long time! In fact, I was so proud of myself when I actually finished it. I mentioned it in my new skincare additions in May last year (post about it here). I only used this at night and I would dispense about 2 little drops onto my fingers before spreading it across my face. With this, I did notice that the little pigmentations (especially my post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from my acne) has reduced quite significantly. This is a pricey serum but considering a little goes a long way, I do think it’s worth it. This retails for SGD159 on Skinceuticals website. I’d probably repurchase sometime in the future.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Honestly, this mascara is seriously my favourite. After finishing this, I tried a few others, even the Loreal Lash Paradise mascara which is a supposed dupe. Nothing really comes close. I never thought I would ever recommend a high end mascara, but I am. This mascara just adds volume while defining the lashes like no other. I am definitely going to repurchase this (I am just waiting for the Sephora sale!). Do note, I do have permed eyelashes so I can’t really attest to its curl-holding abilities. But if you want lashes that are fluffy and noticeably black, I can’t recommend this enough. This mascara is expensive though, retailing for SGD 35 at Sephora.
Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Night Cream
While I mentioned the Hyaluronic-Filler Overnight Treatment here where I talk about 2 new skincare products that will chemically exfoliate our skin, this night cream from the same range has been performing pretty well too. According to Eucerin’s website, this night cream contains 2 types of Hyaluronic Acid to target and treat all wrinkle types plus bio-active Glycine-saponin, to actively increase the skin’s own Hyaluronic acid production.
In terms of texture, I like that it isn’t too heavy for my skin and it does a wonderful job of hydration. I did notice that my skin looks a lot more radiant and plump when I used the overnight treatment and night cream so if you’re on the hunt for some new chemical exfoliant skincare, you can definitely check this out. However, I doubt I will repurchase as this is quite pricey for me.
Now Foods Spike Lavender Essential Oil
I believe the importance of setting the night ambience for a good night’s sleep and my diffuser is something I can’t live without. I usually will use a variety of essential oils on a daily basis, depending on my mood. Now Foods essential oils are really affordable and I usually get them off iherb. Spike Lavender is a more camphoraceous scent than regular lavender but I find it equally soothing. It is also purifying and clarifying and I love it! If you like scents such as eucalyptus, you might like this! A bottle of 30ml costs les then SGD4 on iHerb. I am already half way through my second bottle!
Althea Korea Petal Velvet Sunaway Sunscreen
I also thoroughly loved this sunscreen. I even had a dedicated review post to it right here. For its affordable price tag and lightweight texture, I will definitely repurchase after finishing up my remaining sunscreens!
Recherché Cell Repair Lift Serum
I mentioned this Cell Repair Lift Serum in my favourites post late last year and I did love it till the last drop. This serum felt almost like water, and gets absorbed into the skin in seconds. Thus, it’s a great layering serum that can be incorporated into any skincare routine. I felt like my skin became firmer and brighter with use, so I do think that it is effective. It retails for SGD129 for 30ml on the Recherché website here. It is quite expensive for me, so I’m on the fence on whether I would repurchase again.
The Ordinary Buffet Serum
According to The Ordinary, this serum is a multi-technology peptide serum to target multiple signs of aging. As someone who is approaching her late twenties, anti aging skincare is definitely up my alley. This serum is more viscous than the other The Ordinary serums that I’ve tried and it has a little tackiness to it once dried. If applied too much, it could also result in a some bits clumping up on the skin. However, I did enjoy it. Peptide serums are really pricey, but this one is affordable. Rather than expecting immediate and noticeable results, I kinda view peptide serums to be more of a preventative measure (somewhat like sunscreen!). For that very purpose, I do think that I will repurchase The Ordinary’s Buffet serum soon!
There we have it! It’s quite an extensive list of empties! I am really lucky to be able to try all of these out and I did see an improvement in my skin with these skincare products mentioned. I currently am suffering from another bout of acne so it is sad to see all my hard work of reducing pigmentation going down the drain. Despite so, if I had to recommend only one product from the empties list, I think it will be the Althea Korea Petal Velvet Sunaway Sunscreen. It’s really affordable and a wonderful sunscreen.
What are some of your product empties recently? Anything to recommend?
I hope you enjoyed browsing through this empties list! Till then,
