I spent a whole month in Bali for my yoga teacher training (more on my YTT in Bali experience here) and I definitely loved the Vichy skincare products that I brought along with me. It wasn’t much, but they worked so well. This isn’t a sponsored post and I only brought my Vichy products as I was trying to use them up since I had been testing them out for a while. In Bali, my skin was smooth, radiant and well hydrated and I do think these skincare products contributed largely to that. I also fell in love with a non-rinse cleanser from Pixi that I would also like to share with you!
Vichy UV Protect Skin Defense Daily Care Sunscreen
This was the biggest lifesaver. Being in Bali, the sun and heat were intense. From taking a scooter to a cafe to swimming at the beach, I was pretty much exposed to the sun. This sunscreen is really lightweight and blends into the skin like a breeze. It is really thin in consistency, so there isn’t any streaks or greasiness that can be found with other sunscreens.
I will put this on in the morning and go about my day. From surfing, sun tanning to walking around the streets, I did not get sun burn on my face once. This sunscreen is SPF 50 and PA++++, and it worked great. I will probably repurchase this for a sunscreen that can be used daily or on my travels.
Vichy Normaderm Phytosolution Double Correction Daily Care
I cannot recommend chemical exfoliation enough. It is something that everyone should be doing! My skincare routine will always have a product that has some form of chemical exfoliant, such as salicylic acid, in it. This Vichy Normaderm Phytosolution Double Correction Daily Care is a daily moisturiser for oily and acne-prone skin that contains salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid and probiotic-derived Bifidus to help strengthen skin function.
I did not bring any other serums or moisturisers with me for the trip. This alone worked amazing. It does have an earthy scent to it which I like and two pumps of it is sufficient for my entire face. My skin felt hydrated as it wasn’t tight and I like it is does not feel heavy on the skin. I also had no small bumps or pimples the entire month, and I think that speaks for itself!
Vichy Mineral 89 Eye Contour Repairing Concentrate
I am hesitant on eye creams these days as they tend to be a little too rich for my liking. My undereyes do have quite a few fine lines and I always look out for a a good eye product hydrates and plumps the skin up nicely. The Mineral 89 Eye Contour Repairing Concentrate works well in doing so! This product contains caffeine, hyaluronic acid and Vichy’s mineralising water. It is really lightweight so a few taps is all I need to get the product fully absorbed into the skin.
My Tarte Shapetape concealer goes atop this nicely and there isn’t much creasing or separation. In terms of reducing the appearance of dark eye circles, I don’t see much of a difference. However, it worked well in plumping up the skin so the lines looked less obvious and my undereye area was smooth and hydrated.
Pixi Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser
I did not bring this to Bali with me but I do love this so much for lazy mornings or after a workout. Sometimes I just don’t feel like lathering up some facial foam, splashing water all around and washing my face. On those mornings, this Pixi Vitamin C Juice Cleanser is a life saver. Also, this smells fresh and it really rejuvenates me in the mornings.
This is a brightening cleansing water with stable Vit C, ferric acid, probiotics and willow bark and fruit extracts to help preserve and protect the complexion while boosting the skin’s natural luminosity. Best part is that you just need to apply this all over the face with a cotton pad/hands and there is no need to rinse.
It is like the micellar water concept and I am in. My skin feels clean without being stripped of its moisture. For a fuss-free and quick way to cleanse and refresh the skin, I’d recommend this.
A short and sweet review on my current skincare favourites from Vichy and Pixi! I hope your December has been great and you’re ending the decade well!
Till then,
