It has been a while since I’ve posted on my makeup routine, mainly because it’s really minimal these days. However, I decided to write this to show you what my tried and true makeup products really are. You would have seen some of these featured here before (and I’ll link the previous mentions for you), but honestly, this just proves how much I love them. They work well, they are effective and are fuss-free. Isn’t that what we look out for when purchasing makeup products?
1. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Corrector
Oops I forgot to include this when I took the pictures for the post. Regardless, I’ve mentioned this corrector multiple times now, but for good reason. I use the shade medium and it works so well in cancelling out the dark blueish brown tones of my under eye circles. All I have to do is simply dab my finger in and lightly tap the product under the eyes. It blends like a dream. It isn’t very peachy so I can walk out of the door using just this under the eyes. However, to add extra brightness and coverage, I’d usually go over with another layer of concealer.
I absolutely love this corrector and have mentioned it in these posts:
2. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer / theSaem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer
I rarely set my concealer these days so I look out for a concealer that kinda sets by itself. The Tarte Shape Tape and theSaem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer are my go tos and I alternate between these two often. Honestly, I would say that the formulation, coverage and texture of theSaem concealer is extremely close to that of the Tarte. It is a much more affordable dupe, with the exception of the wide shade range that Tarte has.
These two concealers have medium to full coverage and they do not slide around the skin easily. Perfect for a quick touch up or application after a gym workout. They also blend really easily with just the light tapping of the fingers against the skin.
If you want to read more on theSaem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer, I’ve mentioned it here:
Beauty Favourites 2016 (I know, it’s an old one!)

3. Labiotte Wine Lip Tints
Can’t get enough of lip tints. They work so well in adding some life and colour to the face while being extremely low maintenance. These Wine Lip Tints from Labiotte are really easy to apply and lasts for a few hours on my lips. Depending on the shade, the pigmentation varies. I am currently really loving my PK01 and CR01. These shades are much sheerer (they can be built up for a richer tone) and works well with my minimal makeup.
They also have pigmented shades such as RD01, RD02 and RD03. These work really well on its own or as a base below your regular red lipstick. This way, even after you eat or drink, your red lips are still gonna be almost perfect!
I’ve mentioned these wonderful lip tints in these posts:
4. Loreal True Match Powder Foundation
To get rid of the shine (especially from my sunscreen), I like to take a large duo-fibre brush and dust a little of the Loreal True Match Powder Foundation over my skin. This helps reduce any shine and adds a little coverage to the skin. It reduces the appearances of any larger pores (especially around the nose area) and helps me look more put together in a matter of seconds. I currently am using the shade G5 Gold Honey as I am pretty tanned from Bali.
5. Revlon Volumazing Mascara
If I am feeling a little fancier, I would apply some mascara to add some depth to the lashes and eyes. I do perm my eyelashes, so apply mascara is really quick for me. Currently, I am enjoying the Revlon Volumazing Waterproof Mascara. This was a pretty new drugstore find!
It adds a good amount of volume to the lashes and it is really black. It is also waterproof, so smudges on the lid and lash line are kept to a minimum. This is especially important since I rarely set my under eye concealer these days! Despite it being waterproof, I find removal to be a breeze. A little micellar water will do the trick.
6. Skin Food Black Bean Eye Brow Pencil
While I did eyebrow embroidery about 1.5 years back, it is definitely fading, especially around the tail. If I want a little more definition, I’d go in with an eyebrow pencil just to make the lines of the tail a little clearer.
I also like using eyebrow pencils to line the outer two thirds of my lash line as well! The dark brown works just as well as black to define the eyes in my opinion, without being too strong. It also makes any smudges throughout the day less obvious!
Currently, I don’t have a favourite, but I have been using the Skin Food Black Bean Eye Brow Pencil as it was just laying around in my collection. Honestly, I think even an eyebrow pencil from Daiso (which I have tried before and liked) will work too.
So there we have it, my minimal everyday makeup routine, which honestly takes less than 5 minutes. I find no fault in these products and I hope they will work as well for you too, if you decided to get them!
